A Strip Tease Gone Wrong
Ok, it wasn’t exactly like that… but sorta.
Atticus is going through one of those rebellion phases again. He hates bedtime. This also means that he hates bathtime because it leads into bedtime. Trust me, it’s hard to get a dirty kid somewhat clean when he’s screaming and trying to climb out of the tub.
The other night Mark had a brilliant idea that we’d slowly ease into bathtime. The three of us were laying on the bed watching tv when Mark started to undress A. He pulled his tee-shirt off most of the way but left it stuck on A’s head. A reached up pulled it off and flung it across the room. We all thought it was hilarious and started to laugh.
A moment later the shorts came off. Again, Atticus flung them across the room. This time we were all giggling like a bunch of crazies.
Finally, it was time to take off the diaper. Atticus was wearing a FAI2 (fleece all in two.) Imagine a diaper cover with two strips of material snapped on in the back. Mark handed it to A and told him to throw it…
WHACK
The diaper totally hit me! The absorbent strips were soaked making the diaper too heavy. The wet part hit my leg. Not the end of the world, I suppose.
Being a family of chances, A got a second try…
SMACK
Totally hit me again. Wet strips to the arm.
And again…
SLAP
Yep, totally took one to the face!
And with that, he was in the tub. And I took a shower upstairs.
