    When redirection goes wrong

    September 28, 2011

I’ve been trying really hard to use redirection rather than just saying NO to Atticus.  It’s one of the techniques we learned in that positive discipline class that Mark and I took.  Sometimes it works and other times not so much.

Last night Atticus and I were at our neighbor’s (D) house hanging out.  Atticus was being his usual silly self when all of a sudden he latched onto D’s arm like he was about to bite her!  Of course she says “Atticus!  Don’t bite me!”  Trying to give him alternative, I asked him to give her a kiss…

    Brrrrrrrrrr…………

    He totally blew a raspberry!!!

We all started laughing.  So he did again.  And again.  And again.

Tears were streaming down our faces from laughing so hard.

So, while he didn’t bite, he did have a slobber fest on poor D’s arm.

I saw it was a win… for most of us.

      That is too funny!

P.S. When I went to reply to your comment on my blog your email is not enabled in your Google profile so I couldn’t reply directly back to you.
